- Ventilation is really good with the S-Works Prevail. Vents are aligned from front to back so air can easily flow through and exit. Specialized calls this "4th Dimension Cooling System."
- The helmet was easy to adjust for the first time. Additionally, Mindset micro-dial fit system is easy to adjust even during the ride.
- Comfort is incredible. It is light, looks good, and fits my head very well.
- The straps are very thin, much thinner than any other helmet I have tried. Best of all, they never seem to twist.
- You cannot adjust the size of the ear hole straps. Specialized calls it its Tri-Fix strap arrangement. If it fits you (I had no issues), you will love it.
- Some cyclists experience buzzing noise of straps. I keep my sunglasses over them, so maybe that solved this issue for me.
- Front vents are also designed to hold sunglasses. I noticed that keeping sunglasses upside down offers more secure position when placed on the helmet.
- Added bonus is that the helmet has reflective decals for increased visibility in low-light conditions.
Things I don’t like:
- Although airflow is very good, I had problem with sweat going into my eyes during extremely hot and humid days. Front pads are very thin and narrow and do not seem to be the best design for sweat management. I have tried various suggestions but sweat bands appeared to be the only solution. Other helmets I had previously seem to be better at redirecting sweat to the sides.
- Chin strap buckle needs a rubber band (or something else) to prevent sliding.
- Specialized customer support could be better. Few times I called, they were never able to offer any advice, idea or a comment that is not already listed on their website.
- I expected also to receive a protective bag with this premium helmet. It has been offered with many other brands.
